Growtality Review: Restaurant Bookings, Direct Ordering & Guest CRM Without the Marketplace Cut (2026)

Opening

Restaurant tech rarely fails because the kitchen cannot cook. It fails because the booking lives in one tool, the takeaway order in another, the review request in a third, and the guest who spent £80 on Saturday belongs to a marketplace that takes a cut and keeps the relationship. Owners then rent those customers back at 25–30% commission while stitching logins together after service.

Growtality is an all-in-one restaurant growth platform for that split: direct reservations with deposits and reminders, online and table ordering, in-house delivery dispatch, guest CRM feeding loyalty and marketing, a branded guest app, and—on Pro—Grow AI voice and chat. The bet is blunt: sell more direct, keep the guest profile, and stop paying marketplace rates for demand you already earned.

On Launchpadly, slug growtality, category SaaS, tagline One platform to grow your restaurant, listed 2026-10-29, Week 44 / 2026. The listing is Premium / Featured. Founder account: @growtality_marketing (thisrapt). Site: https://growtalityapp.com/. Legal: ThisRapt Ltd, trading as Growtality (68 Fords Road, Edinburgh, EH11 3HR, Scotland; terms/privacy effective 8 July 2026). Press kit: founded 2026; founder Smit Joshi (Founder & Head Chef).

Disclosure: Independent Launchpadly editorial from public pages reviewed October 2026. We did not run a live service week, take production kitchen tickets, verify Square sync end-to-end, or check App Store / Play turnaround for a named restaurant app. Demo UIs, savings calculators, and “covers not clicks” language are vendor marketing. Confirm plan, commission, POS readiness, Google booking setup, and AI behavior on your menu before a Friday cutover.

Key takeaways

  • Job: direct guest commerce + retention—bookings, ordering, CRM, loyalty, marketing, and (Pro) phone/chat AI—not a thin OpenTable-style diary, and not a marketplace that owns the guest.
  • Plans per location: Standard £29/mo (≤10 users) and Pro £119/mo (≤15 users), each plus 1% on completed online orders and confirmed booking deposits. Annual ~17% off (£24 / £99). Enterprise custom. Terms: not zero-commission; walk-ins outside the platform, unpaid manual diary entries, and cancelled/refunded volume are out of scope. Card fees separate.
  • Pricing-page Black Friday promo during research: sign up by 30 November, £0 subscription for 12 months on Standard/Pro, still owing 1%—then list prices. Confirm deadline year and eligibility at checkout.
  • Honesty gaps: Launchpadly listing still tags Square “confirm it’s live before listing” while integrations marketing presents Square as supported/operational; third-party delivery networks (terms cite Nash / Uber Direct) are planned, not shipping; branded App Store / Play presence is marketing, not verified here.
  • Early product: press/about prefer “built for” over named live case studies. Listing: self-serve ~30 minutes or DFY in ~2 business days; 14-day no-card trial; support 12h/day, 7 days/week ([email protected]).

What is Growtality?

Growtality is restaurant software framed around profitability and retention. About/press: Smit Joshi spent 15 years in marketing, more than five on restaurant marketing, watching commissions and fragmented tools eat margin while guest data stayed elsewhere. Company: ThisRapt Ltd (Edinburgh), brand Growtality.

Published surface: reservations (site widget, Google Business booking button per vendor FAQ, social → one diary; deposits; reminders; waitlist); ordering (direct pickup/delivery, QR/table pay, Kitchen Display, Owner/FOH apps, Delivery Driver app); guest CRM feeding loyalty, referrals, coupons, and automated email/SMS; a branded guest app (logo/colours) as marketed; and Pro Grow AI voice/chat (terms/privacy also name OG/Maya Pro onboarding assist).

It is not a food marketplace and not a painless overnight exit from Deliveroo. The math only works if enough volume moves direct—and if you operate deposits, drivers, and AI handoffs like an operator.

Evaluation methodology

Reviewed October 2026 against public materials only: home, pricing, calculate savings, press, about, feature pages for reservations, Grow AI, and integrations, plus linked ordering / CRM / loyalty / branded-app routes; terms and privacy (effective 8 July 2026); Launchpadly /startup/growtality and @growtality_marketing.

We did not complete a production Friday service, verify Square menu sync, audit App Store / Play listing ops, or test Google Business Profile booking setup ourselves. Competitive notes are category positioning—not Growtality attack copy.

Product overview

The problem it actually attacks

Three leaks: (1) marketplace commission on orders you could take direct, (2) no-shows and missed phones, (3) guest data trapped across booking, POS, and review tools. Growtality’s pitch is one guest record feeding the next booking, order, loyalty point, and win-back message, with AI covering the line when FOH cannot.

Who it is for (as published)

Buyer Why Growtality
Single-site independents Replace a patchwork of booking + ordering + email tools; trial without a card
Busy phone-led venues Pro Grow AI for after-hours and mid-service calls
Groups / franchises Enterprise: multi-location, white-labelling, custom integrations, SLA
Formats listed Fine dining, café/bistro, pub, pizzeria, steakhouse, specialty/world cuisine, takeaway/fast-casual

Listing language prefers “built for” over “used by” until live customers per format are public. Demand a reference call if you are multi-site.

What “direct” actually means on commission

Terms §5: 1% on gross completed online orders (pickup/delivery through the platform) and confirmed booking deposits collected through the platform. Not on walk-in till sales outside Growtality, not on staff-entered diary bookings without online payment, not on cancelled/refunded volume. Savings calculators that assume you move X% of marketplace GMV direct are illustrative—your shift rate is the real variable.

Key features

Reservations, deposits, floor, waitlist

Bookings land from the site widget and social into one diary; vendor FAQ also says add a booking button on your Google Business Profile. Marketing emphasizes flat / per-head / percentage deposits, cancellation windows, eligible auto-refunds, SMS/email reminders, and a live floor plan shared with walk-ins. Waitlist: walk-ins join live and get a text when the table is ready. Treat Google booking as a setup claim to verify on your Profile—not as a certified Google Reserve partnership we audited.

Direct and table ordering + kitchen path

Guests order from the restaurant’s own web/app path (marketing: no marketplace cut on those orders—you still pay Growtality’s 1% + card fees). Table/QR: scan, order, pay; tickets to the Kitchen Display app. Owner/FOH app for floor ops. Margin vs Uber Eats / Deliveroo-class take rates only holds if guests reorder direct.

In-house delivery (not marketplace delivery)

Delivery Driver app on staff devices: shared queue, self-claim, live guest tracking. Customer owns driver employment/conduct (terms §9). No live third-party delivery-network integrations at review time—planned future release, no date. If you need Uber Direct / Nash tomorrow, plan around that gap.

Guest CRM, loyalty, marketing, reviews

Every booking/order feeds a profile. Automation called out: birthday, win-back, review-request flows (vendor: reported in covers, not vanity clicks). Loyalty across dine-in and online; dual-sided referrals; coupons; reviews/reputation on the feature map. Branded guest app adds push, one-tap reorder, and app-only offers; App Store / Play store-presence language is marketing—not verified here.

Grow AI and onboarding assist (Pro)

Pro includes Grow AI voice (24/7), website chat, and AI onboarding / priority support. Feature page: answers from your menu, allergens, hours, booking/deposit rules; takes bookings and food orders; concurrent calls; escalates with context. Terms: AI is best-efforts, not error-free; the restaurant must review AI-assisted configuration. Privacy lists sub-processors such as Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Twilio, and model providers.

Payments and POS

Marketing: Stripe and PayPal, including Apple Pay / Google Pay, for orders, deposits, table pay. Terms §5 name Stripe as the payment processor and do not spell out PayPal—confirm checkout rails for your region. Integrations page: Square POS supported; custom POS via form / Enterprise. Launchpadly still carries confirm Square is live—treat that conflict as a buying condition. Messaging/email: Twilio + SendGrid (marketing).

Pricing and honesty

Published ladder (research snapshot)

Plan List price (per location) Users Standout
Standard £29/mo (+ 1%) Up to 10 Bookings, ordering, delivery, CRM, loyalty, marketing, branded app under “Run the restaurant”
Pro £119/mo (+ 1%) Up to 15 Standard + Grow AI voice/chat + AI onboarding assist + priority support
Enterprise Custom; negotiated commission Custom Multi-location, white-labelling, custom integrations, dedicated onboarding / SLA
Annual FAQ: £24 / £99 mo-equivalent Same ~17% vs monthly (terms)
Trial 14 days, no card — Standard and Pro

Prices also shown in USD, EUR, AUD, NZD, CAD—GBP is the contractual anchor in terms.

Promo and calculator caveats

Pricing page labels a Black Friday offer: £0 subscription for 12 months if you sign up by 30 November, still paying 1%. After that, list prices. Confirm end date (including year), plan eligibility, and what “per location” means for a second site before banking year-one TCO.

Calculate savings and the pricing “receipt” slider compare marketplace cuts (often demo’d at ~30%) to Growtality plan + 1%. Estimates exclude card processing and assume a share of volume moves direct—if guests stay on marketplaces, you can pay Growtality and the marketplace.

Value judgment

Standard at £29 + 1% is a strong published entry—if it replaces a paid booking tool and captures meaningful direct GMV. Pro at £119 buys phone/chat coverage and onboarding assist, not just seats. Value collapses if you only need a reservation widget, if POS sync is an unconfirmed blocker, or if you expected zero commission. Enterprise: negotiate commission and SLA in writing.

How Growtality compares

Need Lean Growtality Lean OpenTable / Resy-class Lean Deliveroo / Uber Eats Lean DIY (Toast/Square + Mailchimp + booking)
Own the guest Core thesis Often network-heavy Marketplace owns demand Possible; more glue
Direct online + table order First-class Usually not the center Strong demand, high take Build / stitch
Fee shape Explicit 1% on platform volume Different fee models ~25–30% take common No platform 1%; ops cost elsewhere
24/7 AI phone host Pro Grow AI Rarely native N/A Third-party add-ons
In-house driver dispatch Delivery Driver app N/A Platform drivers Separate logistics
Multi-year case studies Early (2026) Deep Deep Depends on stack

Use Growtality when the scarce asset is one guest system that sells direct. Keep a marketplace channel for discovery if you must—it does not automate marketplace-class demand.

Who should use Growtality

  • Independents and small groups that feel marketplace fees and want direct ordering + booking with CRM attached.
  • Venues losing covers to missed calls who will pay Pro for Grow AI and still staff escalation.
  • Operators willing to run deposits, reminders, and waitlist SMS as process.
  • Teams that can confirm Square (or accept Enterprise custom POS) and will trial for 14 days before ripping out the old stack.
  • Groups evaluating Enterprise for multi-site / white-label with a negotiated commission.

Who should avoid it

  • Venues that only need a simple booking widget with ordering already covered—migration drag for one module.
  • Operators who need live third-party delivery network integrations this quarter (terms: not available yet).
  • Buyers who need written proof Square (or other POS) sync is live before trial—marketing says supported; the listing still flags confirmation.
  • Groups that need named multi-year references in their exact format before any pilot (“built for” copy).
  • Anyone expecting a commission-free platform—terms refuse that framing.
  • Venues unwilling to own driver employment/compliance, or to review AI allergen/booking answers before trusting the phone line.

Editorial ratings

Launchpadly editorial judgment from public materials—not a timed service-week lab scorecard. Scores match the labels in meta.

Category Score (/10)
Trial, signup & self-serve setup 7
£29/£119 + 1% honesty 8
Grow AI voice & chat (Pro) 7
CRM flows, reminders, waitlist 8
Bookings through loyalty stack 7

Ease (7): Clear no-card trial; ~30-minute self-serve claim unverified; Friday cutover still heavy. Value (8): Transparent 1% + low Standard list vs marketplace math; Pro jump and promo expiry block a 9. AI (7): Concrete Pro voice/chat + best-efforts terms—no live calls placed here. Automation (8): Deposits, reminders, waitlist SMS, CRM marketing/loyalty are the retention design. Depth (7): Broad for the price card; early company, Square confirmation gap, and no third-party delivery rails cap it.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Coherent direct-margin story: bookings + ordering + CRM + loyalty in one product narrative
  • Pricing and terms that admit 1% commission and spell out what is / is not charged
  • 14-day no-card trial; support hours and Edinburgh entity are public
  • Pro Grow AI scoped to restaurant reality (menu, allergens, bookings, escalation)
  • Guest data framed as restaurant-controlled (controller/processor split in privacy)
  • Savings calculator and feature pages are specific enough to stress-test with real GMV assumptions

Cons

  • 2026-founded product; public “used by” proof is thin vs incumbents
  • Square POS marketed as supported while the Launchpadly listing still says confirm live
  • No third-party delivery network integrations yet
  • Branded App Store / Play presence is a claim—not verified for restaurant-specific listing ops
  • Year-one £0 sub Black Friday promo is time-boxed; TCO after month 13 depends on direct volume
  • All-in-one breadth becomes migration risk if you only needed one module

Real use cases

Neighborhood bistro escaping a 30% take rate. Stand up Standard, embed ordering + booking, run the savings calculator with a conservative “share moved direct,” use weekend deposits, and measure 1% + £29 against marketplace fees on the same GMV.

Phone-busy takeaway / pizza. Pro Grow AI for after-hours and rush; online orders to kitchen display; Delivery Driver app for own zones; escalate private-hire calls to a human.

Pub with walk-in spikes. Waitlist SMS + live floor plan; loyalty on dine-in and online; win-back flows for quiet Tuesdays.

Multi-site group. Enterprise for multi-location, white-label, custom POS, SLA—do not assume Standard/Pro caps and commission fit a franchise.

Skip case. Stable reservation specialist + Square POS + agency CRM already, and the only pain is SEO for “book a table”—wrong-sized buy.

Verdict

Growtality is an early but coherent all-in-one for restaurants that want their guests back: direct ordering and bookings, CRM-led retention, and a Pro AI host aimed at how phones actually ruin service. Strongest when you will shift volume off marketplaces and operate deposits, drivers, and AI handoffs. Weakest when you need confirmed POS proof, third-party delivery rails, or decade-deep category references tomorrow.

Buy if Standard/Pro + 1% beats your fee stack on a realistic direct-volume assumption, you will trial on a real service week, and POS/delivery/Google-booking fit is confirmed.

Skip if you wanted zero commission, a single-purpose booking tool, or marketplace-class demand without owning ops.

Start at pricing and calculate savings, read terms §4–5 and §8–9, book a demo or trial, and treat /startup/growtality as directory context—not the contract.

FAQ

What is Growtality best for?

Restaurants that want bookings, direct ordering, guest CRM, loyalty/marketing, and optional AI phone/chat in one platform so more orders stay off marketplace apps and guest data stays with the venue.

How much does Growtality cost?

Per location during research: Standard £29/mo, Pro £119/mo, each plus 1% on completed online orders and confirmed booking deposits; annual FAQ equivalents £24 / £99; Enterprise custom. Promo: possible £0 subscription for 12 months if you sign up by 30 November under the pricing-page Black Friday offer (confirm live). Card fees are extra.

Is there a free trial?

Yes—14 days on Standard and Pro, no card required per site and terms.

Is Growtality commission-free?

No. Terms say so explicitly. Commission applies to platform online order value and booking deposits as defined; not to walk-ins outside the platform, unpaid manual diary entries, or cancelled/refunded transactions.

Does Grow AI take bookings and orders?

Pro marketing and FAQ: yes—party details into the diary; pickup/delivery order guidance to the kitchen path; complex cases escalate to staff with context. Treat as best-efforts AI; verify allergens and policies yourself.

Does it work with my POS?

Square is the named supported POS on marketing pages; other systems via custom / Enterprise scoping. Confirm Square (and your specific POS) is live for your account before depending on sync—the Launchpadly listing still flags that check.

Who owns guest data?

Privacy: the restaurant is controller of Guest Data; Growtality is processor. Guests should contact the restaurant first for data requests.

Who builds Growtality?
