About

ReplayR is a sideline replay camera for Android, built around one idea: you should not have to predict the moment worth filming.

The problem it solves

Coaches, solo athletes and parents all hit the same wall with a normal camera app. You either record the whole session and spend twenty minutes afterwards scrubbing for the four clips that mattered, or you film selectively and miss the play because you were not already recording. A tennis coach filming junior players might come home with 90 minutes of footage per session and use ninety seconds of it.

How it works

ReplayR holds a rolling video buffer. It records continuously into a loop that overwrites its own oldest footage, and nothing is written to your gallery until you explicitly ask for it. When something happens, you save, and it keeps the last 15 or 90 seconds on the free tier, or 3, 6 or 12 minutes on Pro. The decision comes after the moment, not before it.

Saving without touching the phone

The phone is usually on a tripod across the court, which is useless if saving requires walking over to it. ReplayR ships a full Wear OS companion: start, stop, pause, save and change clip length from the wrist, plus a Tile and a Complication for one-tap save from any watch face. Pro adds an open-palm gesture, so you can hold your hand up to the lens and save hands-free. That is the feature that makes filming yourself alone actually workable.

Review and triage

At the end of a session you swipe through the clips you kept, trim them in the built-in editor, and slow playback to 0.25x, which is enough to read a bar path, a release point or a foot plant. Anything you discard sits in a bin for 24 hours in case you were too quick. Stealth mode keeps the screen pitch-black while buffering so a two-hour session does not drain the battery.

Capture quality runs to 480p on the free tier and 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K or 8K on Pro.

Privacy

Nothing is uploaded. There are no accounts, no cloud storage and no tracking, and the app works with no signal at all, which is normal for a pitch, a pool or a ski slope. This also makes life simpler when you are filming minors, because the footage never leaves the phone that shot it.

Who it is for

Racquet sports, surf, ski and skate, pickup games and practice drills, lifting and swing work, and the unrepeatable domestic stuff like first steps and backyard goals.

Pricing: free to use, Pro is a one-time unlock. No subscription.
